Three Tips to Turn Website Viewers into Clients

by | Apr 13, 2023 | Business Strategy | 0 comments

If you don’t have a website, you probably don’t have a business. And if you don’t have a strategically-planned website, you probably don’t have a thriving business. I guess you could say that’s my tagline and I believe it 100%.

Your website should be one of your best salesmen, and if you’re a freelancer or other service provider, here are three tips to improve your conversion and win more clients from your website.

Optimize Your Website’s Content for Your Niche

The term niche gets thrown around a lot in the business world. I’m not talking about really doubling down on your client avatar and all that – but I do encourage you to specialize. Differentiate yourself by the types of people you love to work with, or the type of work you love to do, a specific style or a specific process. I have another blog post all about that here.

Include Clear Calls to Action

Clear calls to action can encourage potential clients to take action on your website, such as signing up for a newsletter, making a purchase, or scheduling a consultation. Make sure your calls to action are prominently displayed on your website and use action-oriented language to encourage visitors to take action. I encourage service providers to include multiple ways to get in touch and request information regarding services. Some people will use a contact form, most will want to speak with you so be sure to include call scheduling if that is a part of your sales process.

Use Social Proof

Social proof can help build trust with potential clients and make them more likely to do business with you. This can include customer testimonials, case studies, and social media mentions. Make sure these are prominently displayed on your website to help build credibility. Freelancers should also have a well-designed and easily-accessed portfolio on their site.
