How to Create a Canva Template Link

Are you using Canva to create designs and templates, but unsure how to easily share them without compromising the original? Whether you’re working on a collaborative project or sharing templates with clients, understanding the process of creating template links in Canva will help!

To create a template link in Canva:

Step 1: Accessing Canva’s Share Feature

Select the project you’d like to share from your Canva library. Go to the “Share” tab as if you were going to download the design.

Step 2: Creating the Template Link

You may have to select “More” to find the the presence of the “Template Link.”

In the image above both the “More” link and the “Template Link” options are circled in yellow.

Step 3: Copying the Template Link

Once you click on the Template Link feature, it will ask you if you want to create a template link — confirm that you do, and then copy the link. It’s that easy!

Step 4: Sharing the Template Link

By sharing this link, recipients will be directed to a new share page that indicates the template’s creator and offers options to start designing or edit the template without altering the original.

This gives you a super easy way to share templates with clients and collaborators so that they cannot alter your original design!
