How to Connect Kit with Divi Form (WordPress)

by | Jan 16, 2025 | Email Marketing | 0 comments

Step 1: Adding an Email Opt-In Form

To start, you’ll need to add an email opt-in form to your Divi website. Enable the Divi Builder on the page you want to edit and follow these steps:

  1. Click the + sign anywhere on your page where you want to place the form.
  2. Select Email Opt-In from the options.
  3. Customize the form by adding a title, changing the button text, and adding any extra content you need.

If you already have a form on your page, you can skip this part and move to the next step.

Step 2: Connecting Your Kit Account

To link your ConvertKit account to your Divi form:

  1. Go to the Settings of your email opt-in form.
  2. Under Service Provider, select ConvertKit from the dropdown menu.
  3. If this is your first time connecting ConvertKit, you’ll need to add your account details:
    • Account Name: This can be anything you want, such as “LeisureBusinessPodcast.”
    • API Keys: Log in to your ConvertKit account to retrieve these keys.

Note: You won’t see the lists there until you go ahead and add the account.

Step 3: Retrieving API Keys from Kit

Here’s how to find your API keys in ConvertKit:

  1. Log in to ConvertKit and click on your name in the top-right corner.
  2. Navigate to Settings and select Developer.
  3. Copy the API Key and API Secret from the V3 section (not V4).

Paste these keys into the appropriate fields in your Divi settings.

Step 4: Troubleshooting Missing Lists

After connecting your ConvertKit account, you might encounter an issue where your lists don’t appear. If this happens:

  1. Clear Your Cache:
    • In your browser, go to History and clear your browsing data.
    • Alternatively, if you use a hosting service like SiteGround, you can click the Purge SG Cache button.
  2. Go back to your form and click Fetch Lists to load your ConvertKit lists.
  3. If they still don’t appear, then create a form in Kit (see video), and then refresh your browser.

Step 5: Fixing Styling Issues

When you integrate ConvertKit, you might notice your form’s styling changes unexpectedly. For example, fields may not align properly. To fix this:

  1. Open your form’s Design tab.
  2. Navigate to Layout and adjust the settings for “First Name” to Full Width.
  3. Save your changes to restore the form’s styling.

With these steps, you’ll be able to use the beautifully styled Divi forms that integrate seamlessly with your email marketing system, Kit!
